Frank W. Ervin III Reelected Board President of the SME Education Foundation

New Foundation officers, directors take office in January 2024

Nov. 8, 2023 – The SME Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SME, announced Frank W Ervin III was reelected for a second term as its board of directors’ president at the recent Fall Gala on November 5th in Long Beach, Calif. All officers and directors take office on January 1st, 2024.

2024 SME Education Foundation Officers

The officers and directors of the SME Education Foundation Board of Directors function as the governing body of the foundation with budget authority and oversight responsibility. They include:

“The officers and directors in this group have exceptional manufacturing knowledge and experience, as well as strong leadership skills that will help us further our mission of educating high-school and post-secondary students,” said Rob Luce, vice president of the SME Education Foundation. “I am confident that their contributions will build on the remarkable progress we have made over the past few years.”

The Foundation utilizes SME's 90-year history and expertise in the manufacturing and engineering industry to cultivate a skilled workforce. To achieve this, it uses a multi-pronged approach, including inspiring students with its Bright Minds Student Summit Program, preparing them through its SME PRIME program, and supporting their college education via its student scholarship program. All of the Foundation's initiatives aim to encourage thousands of young people across the nation to pursue careers in manufacturing and engineering.
