SME and the SME Education Foundation today announced that Rob Luce has been appointed Vice President of the SME Education Foundation.

Taking part in the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) recent Leadership Summit, the SME Education Foundation has announced a partnership with NC3, Snap-on Inc., and the L.S. Starrett Company to provide custom training in precision measurement for schools in the SME PRIME Schools network.

Jim Weber, welding and machining instructor at Capital High School in Helena, Montana, and Demetrius Anthony, lead manufacturing engineering teacher at Hollenstein Career and Technology Center in Fort Worth, Texas, were among the 2017 recipients of the William Dahlgren Award presented by the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering Foundation.

Shape Corp., a global tier-one automotive and industrial component supplier, is the latest manufacturer to join the growing list of companies partnering with the SME Education Foundation to expand its exemplary manufacturing education program for high school students.

The SME Education Foundation received a $300,000 grant from Arconic Foundation, the independently endowed philanthropic arm of Arconic Inc., to expand its PRIME (Partnership Response In Manufacturing Education) initiative.

The SME Education Foundation has presented the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) with its 2017 Outstanding Partner Award, recognizing support of the Foundation’s mission to inspire, prepare and support the next generation manufacturing workforce.
